The Lake Lyell Hydro Environmental Impact Statement will go on public exhibition on Tuesday 31 March. The exhibition period will run for 28 days, concluding on 28 April.
Lake Lyell Hydro is a significant project for the region, and we want to ensure the community has the information it needs to make a submission to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, should people wish to do so. To support this, we will be running an intensive engagement program during the public exhibition period to ensure the local community is provided a range of opportunities to find out more about the EIS or find out information about how to make a submission. We will provide you with an update in the coming weeks about this engagement program once it is finalised.
New name, but same commitment to local region and NSW’s energy transition
Furthermore, you may see a new name out and about - for the pumped hydro project -‘Lake Lyell Hydro’. This simpler, easy-to-remember name reflects the Project’s journey as it moves from early concept and technical studies into the formal planning and approvals stage. EDF power solutions Australia and EnergyAustralia look forward to growing our partnership under the Lake Lyell Hydro name, reinforcing our long-term commitment to the region and our commitment to supporting NSW’s energy transition.
